Helen Margaret Greengrass

Helen / Ellen Margaret Grainger went abroad working as a nurse and Governess. Gerrie Fay, a great granddaughter, recalls she was living in Indianapolis during the time of the race riots and was a chaperone to a millionaire - Kit (Catherine) Buckley. She came home to England every 10 years or so. One of the passenger lists confirm her destination address as Onslow Road, this is where her sister, Ruth Greengrass lived.

Numerous records show a birth date of 24 December 1882 not 1880. That conflicts with the birth date of her sibling, Lydia Elizabeth Greengrass which is recorded as 26 November 1882 - a date written in the family bible.

The family bible also shows a date of 4th December 1882 for Helen Margaret Greengrass. The Indiana Death Certificate shows a corrected date of birth of 24 December 1980.
