About Helen Walker
Born in Wisconsin on July 14, 1936, Helen Thrall was the sixth of nine children. She loved baseball and cowboys. Who know where the love of baseball would have taken her - she was the best second-baseman in Milwaukee - if she had not contracted rheumatic fever in her teens.
Helen moved to California with her brother Tom Thrall in 1959. Here she met her cowboy, Leonard Walker, and married him in 1960, in Mountain View, California. They had one child, a son named David, born in 1963.
Helen has met many challenges in her life with a cheery smile. She was known for her red hair, her pink cheeks and her 1969 Ford Ranch Wagon. Husband Leonard died in 1995. Helen died on January 7, 2014. Her body was cremated and the ashes placed beside Leonard in his grave.
