Hendrick Pieterszen

Hendrick Pieterszen was probably born between 1610 and 1620 in Duisburg near Wesel, Germany. (Source: TAG 20:142-143.) He married Geertie Everts.2

Hendrick Pieterszen married second Geertje Rutgers.3

Hendrick Pieterszen died before 7 April 1692; (described as deceased in a deed by his sons to Gerrit Coerten).4 Also known as Hendrik Pietersz.5 Also known as Hendrick Pieterszen metselaer.6 Also known as Hendrick Van Dusenberg.7 Also known as Hendrick Pietersz van Wessel.8

He came to New Netherland before August 1638. He was in New Amsterdam by 12 Aug 1638 when as, Hendrick Pietersz from Wesel, he appeared in court (Col. Mss. XIV:63). He was a master mason (Col. Mss. XIV:9, 28). On 3 Feb 1640, Hendrick Pietersen from Wesel conveys to Adriaen Pietersen from Alemaer, a plantation near the reed valley, hard by Sappokanican, on the Island of Manhattan (Col. Mss. XIV:12). On 20 Jul 1640, has been recorded the reciept of Hendrick Pietersz van Wesel for two imported milch cows which he hired from the Company (Col. Mss. XIV:63). On 19 Oct 1645, land of Hendrick Pietersz is mentioned on the East River, opposite Hog's Island (Newtown), (Col. Mss. XIV:63, also 27). On 23 Feb 1654, Hendrick Pietersz van Wesel had a dispute about a sow and shotes (RNA, I:167).1 He witnessed the baptism of Janneken Cray , daughter of Teunis Cray, on 4 May 1642 at Reformed Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, (sponsors Sibolt Claeszen, Huyck Aertszen, Hendrick Pieterszen Metselr., Lysbeth Dircks, Anneken Loockermans).6 On 7 April 1664 He recieved a grant of 25 morgens at Midwout (Flatbush), which property eas later sold by his sons.9 On 20 October 1676 Hendrick Pietersz of Flatlands conveyed to Cornelis Hendricks van Eens, 27 morgens in Flatbush on the west side of the highway, with plain and meadow (Lib. C, Flatbush Rec. p. 22 1/4).9 Hendrick Pieterszen and Geertje Rutgers were members of the at Reformed Protestant Dutch Church, Flatbush, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, in 1677 at Amersfort.10 Hendrick Pieterszen was a member of the at Reformed Protestant Dutch Church, Flatbush, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, on 19 November 1679 "fom Amersfort."11 He witnessed the baptism of Jan Bras , son of Pieter Hendricksz Bras and Catharina Jans, on 30 September 1680 at Reformed Protestant Dutch Church, Flatbush, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, (witnesses Lummetje Vechten, Hendrick Pietersz).12 Hendrick Pieterszen was a member of the at Reformed Protestant Dutch Church, Flatbush, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, on 8 December 1682.13 He witnessed the baptism of Bruno Wouterszen , son of Wouter Bruynszen and Neeltje Herperts, on 14 December 1684 at New Utrecht, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, (witnesses Hendrik Pietersz, Dirk Stoffelsz, & Huijsv.
