Daarna tot 1913 in Duits Wes Afrika, toe Zeerust. Opgeroep 1914 om Uys Scouts te vorm. Keer rebelle 1914, waar Genl Beyers verdrink. Weer Duits Wes toe tot 1915; ontslaan 1917 weens gesondheid. Kry dekorasie voor troue dienst. Adj van Kmdt Potgieter, Mafikeng. Laastens superitendent, van Wyksvlei nedersetting. Oorlede in Pretoria.
