Hendricke Vander Cook was born about 1710 in Gansegat, Fairfield Two. NJ and married Catrina Post, daughter of Peter Post and Catherine Beekman. They were married in 1737 in Pompton Plains. Hendricke was elected Morris County Freeholder in 1752 and was a member of the Pompton Plains Reformed Dutch Church as early as 1738. After Hendricke’s death, Catrina remarried to Barent Kool. Through the union of Hendricke and Catrina, he had at least six children including: Henry Cook who married Ann Ryerse; Peter Cook who married Meriah Francisco, daughter of Barent V. Francisco and Catlyntje Stegers; Johannes Cook who married Jannetje Peer; Michael Cook; and Catherina Cook. The name of the sixth child is unknown to me.
