About Henle Ephraim Ullmann
Elchanan ben Ephraim Ulmo, his contemporaries known as Henle Ullmann Ephraim, was born in 1750 as son of Ephraim Ulmo and Brendel Erlanger. His father was chairman of the Pferseer Jewish community. In 1803 was Ephraim Henle Ullmann one of those three bankers and court factors, which granted the financially troubled imperial city of Augsburg against paying high fees and the granting of royal loans the firm establishment in Augsburg. Ephraim Henle Ullmann was married three times. Before 1786 he married Miriam (Mary) Levi from Hohenems, who died in 1792 after the birth of his son Joseph. Ullmann 1793 married his wife's sister, Schanet (or Susanna), a marriage that prompted the Bregenz District Office to a sharp rebuke, because Ullmann had not formally sought a marriage dispensation. From the sources it is not clear whether the marriage was actually effective. Children seem to be not emerged from her. Ullmann eventually married about 1799 Hannah (Chana) Wertheimer from Munich, the daughter of Loew and granddaughter of Samson Wertheim aka Samson Wertheimer. Her daughter Clara married Ullmann 1807 Moshe Levi, aka Moritz mountain lions from Hohenems, her mother's youngest brother. Henle Ullmann Ephraim died on February 11, 1807, his wife Hannah (Chana or hauna) followed him probably on 11 September 1811. Both are buried at the cemetery in Kriegshaber.
