Henry Carrington Arrington

Henry C. Arrington was the son of James Thomas Arrington and Ann Willis. He had three wives:

Elizabeth Gardner was his first wife. They married on Sep 29, 1799, in Franklin Co., NC. She died in 1808. She and Henry had 4 children: Sarah "Sally" Arrington - 1801 James Arrington - 1804 Peter Arrington - 1805 Noel Arrington - 1808

Nancy Boone was his second wife. They married on Nov 15, 1808, in Franklin Co., NC. They had one child, Emma, born in 1809, and Nancy died in 1810.

Nancy Elizabeth Stokes was his third wife. They married on Dec 7, 1812, in Franklin Co., NC. Henry and Nancy moved to Smith County, TN, ca 1823, and on to Wilson Co., TN after 1850. They had seven known children: Mary Mahenry Arrington - 1814 Joel Arrington - 1817 Albert Alonzo Arrington - 1819 Thomas J. Arrington - 1825 Calvin Arrington - 1828 William Arrington - 1830 Elender Arrington - 1832

There were two additional Arringtons living with Henry and Nancy on the 1850 census: Jane Arrington, b. abt 1842, and Henry Arrington, b. abt 1848. These two Arringtons were probably grandchildren as Nancy would have been 51 and 57 when they were born.

Nancy died some time after the 1850 census which was taken in Nov 1850. Henry died in 1857. Location of their graves is unknown.

Henry and his family are on the 1800, 1810, and 1820 censuses of Nash Co., NC, and the 1850 census of Smith Co., TN.
