About Henry Bolin
First husband of Levicy Salley
Henry Bolen was the son of Edward Bolen and his wife Ann Elizabeth "Nancy" Salley. He raised a family "out west". One record shows Henry's wife as Mary A. before South Carolina relatives lost track of him. Again I have no documentation on this. Just information from a letter. Henry Bolen and Thomas Bolen had land deeded to them in 1805 from Edward Bolen. The land was on the forks of the Edisto River, Goodland Swamp, Orangeburg District County, South Carolina. Thomas Bolen sold his land in 1816 and it was bounded on the Southeast by Henry Bolen's land. Edward Bolen was granted land Feb. 4, 1793 on the forks of the Edisto River, Goodland Swamp, Orangeburg District, S.C. Henry Bolen married Levicia Salley Young as her second husband. She was born about 1789. They had children Frank and Sallie. She married a third time, to Redrick Sojourner. There is a Henry Bolen, age 60, on the 1860 census for Lexington County, SC. I do not know what Henry this is, but he is living with B.J. Hayes, age 28, wife Louise, 23, John K. age 6, Geo. D. age 5, Shelton M. age 4 and Lucy Hayes, age 1. The age would be about right for our Henry, but he is said to have died in Mississippi about 1824. Who is this Henry Bolin???* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Oct 17 2018, 7:41:54 UTC
