Henry Brooks 30, Farmer, together with his wife Sarah Horne 25 was a member of Pigot's Party of 54 Settlers on the Settler Ship Northampton.

Party originated from Berkshire.

Departed Portsmouth, 13 December 1819. Arrived Table Bay, Cape Town on 26 March 1820. Final Port - Algoa Bay, Port Elizabeth on 30 April 1820.

Area Allocated to the Party : a block of land, named Pigot Park, on the left bank of the Blaauwkrantz River.

Henry (snr) had all of his children, that were born in South Africa, baptized on the same occasion at the Methodist church in Grahamstown, in 1837.

At the time of the baptism, their home was at Collingham, also known as Governor's Kop, a few miles to the east of Grahamstown, on the KWT road.

There is record of Henry (snr) having been granted the farm in 1846.

His condition in life: Farmer.

The day of his deceased: On about the 15th January 1856.

Died: At his homestead at Collingham.

4.Sophia BROOKS intermarried with Samuel LARTER. [on 2 OCT 1849, at St. George's Church, Graham's Town, by the Rev. J. HEAVYSIDE, the only Son of Samuel LARTER, to Sophia Augusta BROOKS, the fourth daughter of Henry BROOKS, Collingham]
