Sir Henry Cary was the eldest child of George Cary and his wife Elizabeth Seymour.
Although no baptism has been found, he was aged 30 when his father died in 1643.
In the visitation of 1620 & a deposition in 1646 he is listed as the eldest.
Knighted 30 July 1644 by King Charles. Sir Henry Cary was a staunch royalist.
