I believe Henry Gore was the last of four sons of the John Gore family of either Kentucky or Tennessee. The first three sons died in the Civil War, and John Gore sent his remaining son Henry to London, Ontario to make sure that at least one of them survived. (I may have this story wrong, but that's how I remember it.)
According to my Grandfather Gore's research, John Gore's father was another John Gore, and his father was Elijah and his father was Ebenezer, and his father was John, and his father was John Gore of Roxbury, England. Preceded by a Richard Gore of Southhampton (with an arrow pointing to) Raddesly. The researcher was Theodore W. Gore of 33 Broad St., Boston, Mass. The date on this hand-written letter is 1909.
