Henry Law

I came to the new world about 1750. They think I came from Scotland but that is not confirmed and I'm not talking. I came over, it is surmised, with my son, David Law and a widow, Ann Power Stewart??? this according to a hand written note provided by Randall Bennett Law but the confusing issue is that records indicate I married Ann in 1742, eight years BEFORE arriving in the new world??..... and Ann was recorded as having been married to and had a son George with Nicholas Power, a prominent Rhode Island family of the time?? (see notes for Ann Power Stewart Law) Ann's death date and burial location is also unknown and she's not talking???

According to an old hand written record, I fed my family by operating a stage coach from Providence/Boston/Providence on the Old Boston Post Road, still well known to Bostonians.

See the update posted for David Law, originally thought to be my son with Anne Power. Research shows that I was David's Uncle, not father. David was my brother Henry's son with Janet Symn (Simm?) David's birth was in Culross, Perth, Scotland, the only child recorded of this union. Why David came to the new world with Uncle George will likely never be clear. There is no record of any marriage by George in Scotland, just one purported marriage in the new world with no issue to Anne Power Stewart. That record is still as yet uncovered.
