Henry "Eberhardt" Loudenslager. Civil War Vet. age 76y 7m 9d.

EVERHART LOUDENSLAGER, a well-known stone mason, aged 76 years, died alone at 5:20 p.m. at his home, 26 George St. His daughter, Miss Mollie, who lives at home, left him reading a newspaper and went to the home of her brother for a short time. Upon her return she found him dead on the floor. He had apparently died without a struggle. Dr. O.H.W. Ragan, who was summoned, made an examination and expressed the opinion that his death was due to natural causes. After receiving this statement from the physician Justice Hoffman decided an inquest unnecessary.

He had continued to work, being an active man up to last week laboring at his trade regardless of his years. He was working at the Fair ground helping at the stone work at the front of the new grandstand, when he was taken ill. He went home and soon rallied. His illness passed away but returned the last time with fatal force.

The deceased was born in Germany April 1, 1826. He was a Union veteran of the Civil War, having served in Company I, Seventh Maryland Volunteer Infantry. He was a member of Reno Post G.A.R., St. Matthew's German Lutheran church.

His wife died some five or six years ago.

Surviving are these children: John, George, Everhart, Jr., William, Hagerstown; Charles, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Edward Bowers, Hagerstown; Miss Mollie, at home.

Funeral Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock; services in St. Matthew's Lutheran church; interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers from Reno Post.
