Not the father of Thomas Pettit, Sr.

Valentine Pettit m. Mary Clyve and had five sons and two daughters.

Henry Pettit 1595-1624 the eldest son of Valentine Pettit and heir of Dandelion manor & is buried in St Mary Madelene Church.were is found a brass memorial. He married Hannah the daughter of Adam Sparkling in Margate Isle of Thanet.

They had only one issue mentioned in Visitation of Kent: Henry Pettit 1627-1661 buried in St. John the Baptist Church in Margate, in the Isle of Thanet were a brass of him and his wife are found.

BIOGRAPHY: It is said that the family originated in Meaux, France, nearParis, and dates to the eighth century. Henry Pettit of Saffron Walden,Essex County, England, had two sons, Thomas and John, and they came toAmerica with the Winthrop Fleet, which sailed from England in March 1630.
