About Henry Reed
"Our father, Henry Reed, was born in Ipswich, England, and enlisted into the British Army before the Battle of Waterloo. He falsified his age when he 'took the King's shilling' and was just twenty years old when Napoleon was finally defeated in this epic engagement in 1815. He was in the 68th regiment which had just returned from the West Indies, and this regiment was in reserve at the time of the battle."
Son, John Holmes Reed, in 1939 interview.
Married Ann Holmes at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Quebec City, 10 Jul 1824. Ceremony performed by Rev. James Harkness.
