OBITUARY, THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT, Chariton, Iowa, Thursday, June 18, 1970:
SHULTZ - Mr. Henry Shultz, 1427 Linden Avenue, Chariton, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, June 8, 1970, at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital after suffering a stroke three weeks ago. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Shultz was born at Union, Iowa, May 7, 1892, the son of James and Hulda (Rash) Shultz, and grew to manhood in that area.
On January 22, 1912 he was united in marriage to Tura Coler, who survives. They farmed in the Union area until 1924 when they moved to Marshalltown. In 1934 they moved to a farm near Osceola, then to a farm near Williamson, retiring in 1962, and moved to their present home in Chariton.
Survivors include his widow, three sons and two daughters: Alfred Shultz, R.R. 2, Marshalltown, George Shultz, R.R.1, Weldon, Edward Shultz, Reasoner, Mrs. Ellen Baker, Osceola and Mrs. Bessie Winn, Derby; also 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Stella Brown, Marshalltown.
Services were conducted by the Rev. R. Roland Ritter at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 1970, at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Bethel E.U.B. Cemetery near Russell.

FORMER RESIDENT’s RITES WEDNESDAY
Services for Henry B. Schultz, Chariton, former local resident who died Monday at a Chariton hospital, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Rev. R. Roland Ritter was in charge.
Bearers were Bob White, Clyde Davis, Kenneth Davis, John Stearns, Charles Phillips, and Joe Edgington. Internment was in Bethel Cemetery at Russell.
Mr. Shultz was a native of Union, born there May 7, 1892, the son of James and Hulda Rash Shultz. He was married to Tura Coler Jan. 22, 1912, and they farmed at Union until moving to Marshalltown in 1924. They later farmed near Osceola and Williamson until his retirement in 1962. Survivors include his widow and five children.

CHARITON - Henry B. Shultz, 78, retired Lucas County farmer, died Monday at Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient three weeks. He had been a resident of Chariton since 1962.
Survivors include his widow, Tura; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Baker of Osceola, and Mrs. Bessie Winn of Derby; three sons, Alfred of Marshalltown, George of Weldon, and Edward of Reasnor; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Stella Brown of Marshalltown.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. R. Roland Ritter of First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Russell.
HENRY BURTON SHULTZ was born May 7, 1892 at Union, Iowa and died Jun. 8, 1970 in Iowa. On Jan. 22, 1912 at Eldora, Iowa he married TURA E. COLER, daughter of Edwin C. Coler and Cora McCall. She was born Jan. 21, 1894 in Union and died Nov. 28, 1974 at Chariton, Iowa. Henry and Tura farmed in the Union area until 1924 when they moved to Marshalltown. In 1934 they moved to a farm near Osceola, then to a farm near Williamson, retiring in 1962, and moved to Chariton. They are buried in Bethel Cemetery, Lucas County, Iowa,
