SMITHIAM- The many friends of Mr. Henry Smithiam , of Osborne St, Kennington, regretted to learn of his death at the home of his daughter Mrs, G. W. Hannan, Obsborne St, on Saturday afternoon, at the age of 72 years. Deceased was born at Long Gully, and as a young man was employed at Robertson's and Harness' Foundries for many years. He continued his occupation as Blacksmith at various mines. He was of a quiet disposition and did not take an active part in public life. He leaves two daughters; Hilda [Mrs. L. Tyler of Melbourne] and Vera [Mrs. C. W. Hannan of Kennington} and one son-Henry, of Bendigo. Evidence of the esteem in which the late Mr. H. Smithiam was held by his fellow citizens was shown yesterday when his burial took place in Bendigo Cemetery, in the precence of a large and representative gathering. The casket was carried to the grave by Messers C. Rasmussen, E. Cox, F. Smith, G. Hannan.
