About Henry Turner
He gained the rank of officer in the service of the regiment of Murrough O'Brien, 1st Earl of Inchiquin
The Munster Plantation by Michael MacCarthy-Morrough 1986 p.234. One of the leading townsmen in Bandon was Henry Turner, younger son of a Kentish man. He set himself up as a clothier and soon became a prominent tradesman and provost in 1637 & 1638. He suplied the Abraham with grain and butter and meat and bought tobacco and pepper more surreptitiously from a pirate in 1625. In the depositions he claimed losses of 774 pounds.
