About Henry Adam Welle
Henry A. Welle, a resident of Lastrup, MN, died March 27, 2004, at the Pierz Villa.
Mass of Christian Burial was held March 31 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lastrup with Father Roger Thoennes
officiating. Burial was at St. John’s Parish Cemetery.
Henry was born on Oct. 9, 1915, in Lastrup to the late Henry and Pauline (Ortman) Welle. He grew up on a farm
north of Lastrup. He attended school in Lastrup. Henry married Evelyn Boser on May 6, 1941 at St. John’s
Catholic Church in Lastrup. He farmed all his life on a farm north of Lastrup. He retired from farming in 1984
and moved to Lastrup. After his retirement, he continued to help his sons on the farm. Henry was an easy going,
good-natured gentlemen. He loved children, watching the Minnesota Twins, whistling and singing while he
worked, reading and playing cards. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, St. John’s Church in
Lastrup, St. John’s Choir and also an usher.
He is survived by his sons, Arvin Welle and wife Mary of Lake Elmo, MN, Glen Welle and and wife Gloria of
Otsego, MN, David Welle and wife Roxanne, Bruce Welle and wife Irene, Harry Welle and wife Darla, and Mark
Welle and wife Paula, all of Pierz; daughters, Bernell Huver and husband Richard of Spring Lake Park, MN,
Diane Schommer and husband Ken of Hillman, MN, Linda Wenning and husband Ken of Albany, MN and Sandy
Herman and husband Don of Royalton, MN; brother, Harold Welle of Pierz; 36 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn; his parents; brothers Norbert, Herman, Victor and Ambrose, and
sisters, Hilda Ethen, Betty DeFeo, Olivia Faust, Sr. Carletta, Marie Eckman and Lydia Flicker.
