Gabriel Whelden (c1583-1654) had children baptized at St Leodegarius Church, Basford:

4. Henry Whelden (bapt. 21 Feb 1618/9 - 28 Oct 1694) m.25 Jan 1647/8 Edith (d.15 May 1682); .lived at Sandwich, Mass.  He was listed among the "Males able to beare Armes" in Yarmouth .in August, 1643.  He also fought in King Philip's War in 1675-6.

In 1655, joined his brother John and brothers-in-law, Richard Taylor, tailor, and Richard Taylor, husbandman in a lawsuit against the estate of their father-- specifically of their step-mother, Margaret, who was recipient of the full estate. (S2)
