About Hezekiah Mattuson Palmer

This is the grandfather that raised my mother, Lillie (Bill) Martin. She told me that he was an Indian herb doctor and had the dark eyes, black hair and dark complection of an Indian.

He was apparently called "Hez" and the 1930 census taker in McCurtain County, Oklahoma apparently misunderstood because he is listed as "Hey Palmer". This census has him living in the town of White in McCurtain County .
