About Hilda Elisabeth Vold
Hilda Elisabeth Johnson was born September 20, 1878, at Dalsand, Sweden, to parents, Johana and Augusta (Ryden) Johnson.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her native land.
In 1889, as a young girl, together with her two brothers, Alfred and Gust Johnson, she came to Hazel Run to the home of a cousin, Mrs. E.H. Olson.
In 1901, she was united in marriage to Peter J. Vold by Rev. Sottendahl at Hanley Falls, Minnesota.
To this union, five children were born: John, Theressa (Mrs. Albin Dyrdahl), Leonard, Esther (Mrs. Milford Jacobson), all of Hazel Run, and Helma (Mrs. Alton Hanson) of Clarkfield.
She and her husband established a home on a farm southwest of Hazel Run where they resided until he passed away in 1960. She then made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Milford Jacobson of Hazel Run. She entered the Clarkfield Nursing Home in April, 1967, and on December 10, 1969, was taken to the Clarkfield Hospital. There she peacefully slept away in the early evening of December 12, 1969, having reached the age of 91 years.
Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Leonard Vold; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her parents; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her five children, ten grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and three sisters: Hanna, Alfild and Esther, all in Sweden.
