HIRAM "IRA" BARTLETT

New Jersey/Illinois/Missouri/Wyoming

Hiram "Ira" BARTLETT, married Sarah CARTER. I know nothing further about them except they had approximately seven children, all probably born in Trenton, Mercer Co. NJ. The children were orphans and supposedly sent on an Orphan Train to the midwest. My grandfather was one of the children:

• 1. Henry Benjamin BARTLETT (my grandfather), born 7 Mar 1873/1881 Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ, died 14 Oct 1951 Anna, IL, buried Greenhill Cemetery, Laramie WY, married 22 Sep 1894 Nodaway Co. MO Carrie Agnes PERUE.
• 2. Cora BARTLETT, married bef. 1930 prob. Pleasanton, KS (Unknown) GARRETT

NOTE: Henry Benjamin BARTLETT was said to have drawn cartoons for a newspaper which would possibly be in the area of St. Joseph, MO. He lived in the vicinity of Nodaway Co. MO until he married my grandmother, Carrie Agnes PERUE. They traveled by wagon train from St. Joseph, MO to Albany Co. WY in a group of families named PERUE, THOMAS, LEAKEY, etc. Henry Benjamin is said to have married Ida TURPIN in Jackson Co. CO. He is also said to have had a son, Darwin Nelson BARTLETT, born 1912 Pettis Co. MO by Bertha CRAWFORD.

• 6. Albert Dewey BARTLETT, born 1904 CO, died 1925, married Laramie, WY Mary KIRSH.
• 7. Henry BARTLETT, Jr., born ca 1905 Laramie, WY, died as infant.
• 8. Roy Herbert BARTLETT, born 1907 Laramie, WY, died 1984, married 1930 Ft. Collins, CO Hattie KINCAID.
