About Hiram Laws
Hiram Laws is buried in Sellers Hill Cemetery in Carroll County, Tennessee.
Hiram was of English - French ancestry born in Orange County, North Carolina. Hiram was reared by a mother's tender care, his father dying while he was quite small. About 1825 he married Jincy Ann Sims, and immediately started for Maury County Tennessee where he remained one year. He then came to Carroll County (with agricultural pursuits) and settled in the 12th District and in 1834 moved to Alabama, but returned to Carroll County in 1836 (escaping from the Indians), where he passed the remainder of his days. After returning to Carroll County, he acquired 200 acres of land.
