Hiram and Clarissa moved to Hague, NY sometime before 1850 (Hiram was listed in the 1840 census for Ticonderoga, NY). Hiram's father, Robert, fought in the American Revolution. Hiram's brother, Nehemiah, married Lucy Holman. Lucy was the daughter of Thurston and Submit (Park) Holman, who came to Hague around 1802-1803.
Hiram was listed as a blacksmith in both the 1850 Federal Census and the 1855 New York Census (both for Hague, Warren Co., NY).
