About Hiram West Goodsell
Hiram Goodsell, 97 years old, died at the home of his son one and a half miles from Shell Rock, last Thursday morning. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1809, and he came to Iowa in 1864. He was Well known in Butler and Bremer counties, and for many years has been called "Uncle Hiram" by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. At the time of his death there were living in the same house, on the old homestead owned by M. A. Goodsell, his son, four generations of the family.
