Attended The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he received a BS in 1915. Attended The University of Buffalo where he received an M.D.
Invented the Yellin Clamp, used in circumcision. Also one of the two inventors of the Gomco Clamp, used for the same purpose.
Dr Hiram Yellen, an obstetrician and a veteran of both the First World War and the Second World War, invented the Gomco clamp on the basis of his experience of using a Ford motor tyre lever.
