Homer Clark “Waff” Purvis, Jr

Homer “Waff” Purvis, 77, of Eminence, died Friday, March 2, 2007, in Louisville. Son of the late Homer Clark Purvis, Sr., and Hazel Crawford Purvis, he was retired from the Reformatory as a prison guard.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Jean Purvis, Eminence; two daughters: Diane L. Clark and husband, Ronnie, Eminence and Nancy J. Rainey and husband, Mike, Louisville; three brothers: Dan Purvis, Indianapolis, IN, Jesse Purvis, Madison, IN and Calvin Mahoney, California; one sister: Molly Lou Louden, Sulphur; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary “Cissy” Roberts.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 5th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.
