Surname: Scott, Jones, Foster, Alexander

I believe Hugh is related to the John Scott line. You can check out my posts that deal with this line over at Genforum.com board. What I have for Hugh is that his father was William and his grandfather was John. Hugh was. b. Jan. 13, 1771 in Raleigh, NC, D. Sept. 11, 1850 in Piqua, OH, m. first to Mary Moffett Mar 6, 1794, later m. Nancy Landon? or Jerimah Hughes? on Feb. 1, 1804.

There were 7 children, Hugh, John, Sarah, Samuel Thornton, William, Nancy M. and Hannah. These are the ones that I know about, anyway.

Father was William Scott (b. 1750? in N. Hampton CO, PA, D. in Sept. ? 1804 in Jessamine Co., KY.) I do believe he made a Will which mention his children. William m. Grizzel Carruthers in 1770? in NC? She died before 1806 in KY

The known children of John Scott were:

Mary?, William, Martha, Thomas, Jinette, Nancy, Samuel Sr, and Hannah. They may have had half-siblings John and James that were born in Ireland but that is still a ?

John Scott married his second? wife Margaret Thornton on March 13, 1740 in Ireland. John was involved in supressing a Catholic Rebellion in Ireland and lost an arm there around 1725. They came to America in June of 1745. John was b. in 1706? in Endinburgh, Scotland. He died Nov.12, 1774, in Guilford Co, NC. Margaret was b. in 1722? in Ireland?, d. Apr. 6, 1801 in Jessamine Co., KY.
