Hugh Mitchner Williamson, Sr.

Hugh M. Williamson, 76, of chpe Coral, Fin., formerly of who died Saturday, April in Cape Coral Hospital. He was born June 26.1920, ln a son of Edward F. and Goldie Cary Williamson. Mr. Williamson was a graduate of College and had taken specialized courses at several universities including West Virginia Louisville University, Alabama University and Harvard. He was instrumental in including vocational education to the high school curriculum as a member of ohio's Hamilton County School Board. He worked for the Army Ordinance Department as a certified powders and explosives inspection and as an enlistee of the Navy, serving as a personnel counselor. Mr. Williamson retired as a life certified purchasing manager from Joseph E. Seagram Sons Inc. after 40 years of service. He served as an elder in Presbyterian Church in Cleves, Ohio, Mount Vernon, and Cape Coral, Fla. He also served as a deacon in Mount Vernon and as the moderator of the board of deacons at Faith Church. At the time of his death, he was serving Peace River Presbytery as a member of the committee on representation. Mr. Williamson was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 750 of Louisville, Ky. and a for more than 30 years. In 1983 he retired to Cape Coral from Mount Vernon, His first wife, Mary Dinsmore Williamson, is deceased. Surviving are his second wife, Margaret Williamson; two sons, James E. Williamson of Cincinnati, Ohio and H. Mitch Williamson Jr. of Cape Coral, Fla.; one stepdaughter, LindaLou Runyan of Elk Mountain, Wyo.; two brothers, Charles J. Williamson of and T. Edward Williamson of one sister, Martha Tharp of Parkersburg, three grandsons, H. Mitch Williamson II, Michael Williamson and David Williamson; two granddaughters, Sonya Reichenbach, Karen Locke; and one great- granddaughter. Services were held in Cape Coral. Interment was held in Cape Coral Cemetery, Cape Coral, Fla.
