Brother of actor Abe Vigoda and comic artist, Bill Vigoda, Hy was arguably the least famous of the three brothers. A writer principally in the Golden Age of comics, he worked at a time when most writers went uncredited.
However, later research has revealed him as a prolific contributor to several different comic publishers. Like his brother Bill, he perhaps worked most frequently for Archie Comics. But he also contributed to the Golden Age versions of several well-known characters, including: DC's Flash, Fox Comics' Blue Beetle, Timely/Marvel's original Human Torch and Sub-Mariner and Charlton's Yellowjacket.
It has been claimed that he was also Hal Rasmusson's ghost-writer on the syndicated newspaper strip, Aggie Mack. He may also have been the uncredited writer on the Bibs 'N' Tucker strip.
