Ilancueitl (Nahuatl for "old-woman skirt"; pronounced [ila%C5%8B%CB%88k%CA%B7e%CB%90.it%C9%AC]) is a significant female founding figure in the histories of the ruling dynasty of Tenochtitlan, though her precise role is described differently in different sources. She is associated with Acamapichtli, the first ruler of Tenochtitlan; according to one source (the History of the Mexicans as Told by Their Paintings), she was the first ruler of Tenochtitlan herself.
