Phone Company Employee Retires On Pension
Ira O. Nevel, local lineman with the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, is retiring on pension today (January 8), after more than thirty-five years in the telephone industry. Mr. Nevel, whose home is at RD 1, started with the Bell Company in Butler, Pa., in 1910. He came to the Charleroi office in March, 1926. A member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, his is married and has four children, Ben B. Nevel, Mrs. Mildred E. Mcluch, Mrs. Patricia E. Rossing and Mrs. Ann J. McBride.

Death certificate gives age as 73. Son of John A Nevel & Arminta Shannon. Son-in-law, John Meluch, was informant. Buried May 22, 1957.

Ira Otis Nevel of Monongahela, RD 2, died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital, May 19, 1957, at 2:05 p.m. Friends will be received at the Francis C. Slezak Funeral Home. Services will be held there May 22, 1957, at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. Earl D. Daniel, and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
