About Isom Price, of Bear Mtn, Amherst Co, VA

ydna of Marshall famiy of this group: B44534 Henry Marshall, 1859-1899, Gedmatch=A266176 I-P37 (which is the same as [John] Rice Hooe I who indentured the Old Cheraw of MS' Page of the Yeopim and Hayes of the Eastern Algoguian who married with the Wicocomico Oliver servant dad of Mrs Eleanor Taptico.

Family History: Our POUNS/PONS/PONDS married our ISOM forebears where the two come together in this marriage of this Pounds and Ishaw. Our POUNS were England and New Spain connected; back to Iberia via NEW SPAIN and meshing with Pardo on the Iberian FTDNA Project; shown as #Pieto/ #Pardo's --the unfortunate provider of all things that ransacked the Witchita where, Witchita, KS is digging up cannon balls in their 2017 dig. Pardo took it to all parts eastward with the carbon dating the Susquannah study by the NPS as having a 1570 settlement there and of whom (Siouan, Algonkian, and Iroquoian) and by the time of the 1656 mapping, they are all trying to hold out against small pox, together. Back to the 1550 era, the Witchita had 20,000 NA in that area of a metropolis when Pardo showed up and a very small number after; so, from 1570 working hemp fields( which is what the Siouan word "Minekin" means) til Capt John Smith saw and mapped their one contingient in the early 1600, it was a rough time for the NA.

The epic trek lead to Tugaloo (re)settlement on the Tugaloo where the Old Cheraw that were left (10 warriors and unknown women and children numbers) were after 1724, there is 1728 and until going to the Lawrence Plantation. - then, intermarry to Lawrence ancestors Resident Apprenticeship Period due to VR law saying all NA have to be apprenticed til age 21. Ishaw married her John IV Pounds, Iberian Mulatto, with the same ydna as the Maj John West haplogroup; (source Iberian ydna -Robert Pounds,et al. per STP and NA via SNP group study with professional triangulation showing NA percentages for those descending from Ishaw ). They could have met as early as bout 1735, when John Pounds IV went with his uncle, Samuel, in the Germanna, county seat of Orange County, Virginia, and is mentioned in records there in 1737., Orange County, Virginia 1735 Marriage: Marriage of: Isom Pound (born Ishaw) (a Minekin Town name for "Hemp Grower" - a Siouan word for an Old Cheraw Siouan people. It is not for the ISHAM family as they have no record of her. The only record is her marriage in 1739 in the area at the right place and right time for the post 1724 Northern Neck encampments, see media section and map, during a severe small pox epidemic. This Isom was Lewis/Pounds/Laurence/Symmonds-Simmons connected for generations both in family documentation and in group autosomal triangulation studies. See the encampment map and the Nexus for the times when the former enemies of Siouan and Pamunkey are given land grants next to each other; but, the Pamunkey refuse to live on the same side of the river as the Siouan.

From the following source, we know that John Pounds IV was orphaned at 13 and apprenticed til 21 which was the law for Mulatto Native Americans, specifically, at that time.

YDNA match to Samuel and the to John IV results in by way of Robert Pounds taking the test. Thank you so much.

Autosomal Results were professionally triangulated with chromosomal brower of DNA Consultants, by Tushanna Corkern, and the 11/13 descendants of Ishaw testing did have NA mtdna if female and ydna if males; specific to the descendants of Ishaw and Samuel's direct ancestors; which did not inclue the Walker or Rorey as they were not counted in the number 13 of drect descendants, as none of them showed NA and one was adopted and the others did not have valid cousin matches at a 7 CM and of those who did, they were not counted in the NA contingient of Ishaw's line as their segment matches were more of what would be expected as half cousins. Of the 13 who were direct to Isom Pounds, these were the same one as direct to Ishaw as we do know yet know any other descendants testing from just her line yet. We could get more results, but the 90% figure would likely be the same from these documented indentured mulatto groups.
