Israel and John Waters (brother-in-law) purchased an interest in Township No. 3 (Skowhegan, ME) in 1734. Israel removed to Maine, where he married and reared his family. He was not mentioned in his father's will, dated 1737. He did not appear in the first Census Report of 1790. The town of Skowhegan was Inc. in 1823 as the town of Milburn. The name was changed to Skowhegan in 1836. There are no records remaining of Township No. 3. Skowhegan Vital Records go back only to 1780.
