About Israel Stowell, Jr.
Israel Stowell Jr. was the second child and eldest son of Israel Stowell (1670-1725) and his wife Abigail Fuller Stowell (ca. 1674-1718). His father was a weaver in Newton, Middlesex Co., MA. On October 8, 1729 Israel married Sarah Cheney (1704-1775), eldest daughter of Joseph and Sarah Wiswall Cheney of Newton. The couple settled in Newton where nine children were born: Israel (b. 1732), Sarah (b. 1733), Joseph (b. 1735/36), Elizabeth (b. unk.), Rhoda (b. unk.), Daniel (b. 1738), Enoch (b. 1740), Abigail (b. 1742/43 & died young), and Abigail (b. 1745).
No marker for Israel Stowell Jr. has survived and there is no known record of his place of burial. However, given that Stowell's wife was buried in the East Parish Burial Ground less than a year prior to his death, one can reasonably assume that Israel Stowell Jr. rests in the same burial ground.
