About Jack W Wheat
Jack W. Wheat, 82, of Aloha died Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Veterans Hospital in Portland.
Gravesite services were held at Willamette National Cemetery. Mr. Wheat was born in Barsdall, Okla. on September 28, 1921. He served in the Army (PFC) from 1941 to 1945, where he broke in horses for the Tenth Mountain Division. His military career ended with injuries from his work, and Mr. Wheat left the military as a disabled veteran of World War II.
Mr. Wheat lived in southern California raising his families, then moved to Sutherlin in 1971 to be closer to his extended family. In 1989 he moved to Portland with his wife Marilyn and daughter Sharon. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, daughters Anna, Anita, Debbie, Rhonda and Sharon, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his sister, Lee Marie, of Roseburg.
