Jacob Haass

Jakob Haas came through Vienna on July 19, 1784, well before most of the Josephinian settlers and is recorded at W-K 233/9, his profession given as Carpenter and Builder. He was obviously very active in the construction of the new Banat villages. He lived at Gottlob, Banat, where the Dimon (DuMont) family was billeted. Father Reinholdt Lovasz found the wedding of Jakob Haas and Angela Demon (Du Mont) at the Gottlob register on 23 of December 1785 at house no. 153. See also notes under Christian Dumont.
