Mr. Jacob Hessler. Jacob Hessler, Oval Grange, West Hartlepool; son of the late Julius Hessler; born at Skien, Norway, January 3rd, 1859 educated at Skien, and West Hartlepool. Head of the firm of Jacob Hessler and Company, Ltd., ship owners and timber agents, West Hartlepool, Hull, and Newport, Monmouthshire, also of Hessler Shipping Company, Ltd., West Hartlepool, and Aktiebolaget Hessler and Company, of Gothenburg, Sweden ; been engaged in the timber trade for the last twenty-five years ; was originally with Messrs. Groves, Maclean and Company, then with Victor Nilson and Company until 1891, when he started on own account in timber and steamship owning ; founder and Managing Director of the Northern Ore Trust, Ltd., of West Hartlepool ; Vice-Consul for Norway for the Hartlepools ; a Freemason, and a Churchman. Married, in 1891, Killy, daughter of the late A. Andersen, Chief of the Customs at Christiania.
