About Jacob Charles Landes, I
Birth: UNKNOWN in probably Switzerland Death: BET SEP AND OCT 1749 in PA; estate settled 11 Oct 1749 - buried Delp's Cem, Harleysville, Philadelphia Co (now Montgomery Co) Note: Naturalized in 1743 with his son, Jacob. In 1727 he purchased 187 acres of land on Indian Creek, Franconia Twp, in what is now Montgomery Co, P A. On this land he built a grist mill and a house. In 1734 an adjacent tract was surveyed to him; the two tracts extending from the Indian Creek to the Branch Creek, northeast of the village of Vernfield. In 17 38 he was listed as a Trustee of the Lower Salford Mennonite congregation n. On 20 Apr 1748, Jacob Landes (Sr) and his wife, conveyed their entire holdings to their son, Jacob Landes/Landis (Jr.) This seems to indicate that he was their only son, or at least the only one still living in 17 48. Jacob (Jr) further improved the land he inherited by building a saw m ill on Indian Creek.
Richard Warren Davis book is source of him as a son of Rudolph. I ha ve no further proof of this.
