(XV) Jacob, son of Hans Rudolph and Judith (Haegis) Spengler (error..should be Marie Saeger), was born September 22, 1698. He was compelled to leave the land of his birth in consequence of the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, and on account of his Portestant faith. He settled in the town of Salzburg, Tyrol. He married, and some of his descendants later settled in the Netherlands, and others of his descendants settled in the kingdom of Poland. Jacob Spengler, later with his brother Franz, located in West Prussia, Germany, where they together occupied a royal estate known as Grementz. Jacob Spengler is later referred to in the history of the Polish revolution in 1803, and in designated as one of the heroes of that memorable period. He married, and among his children had a son Jacob, cont.
