Baptized: Jan 16,1656
Died aft. 1731
Married ca. 1682 in Albany. Jacobus removed to Schenectady in the year 1670 with his uncle, Isaac Trieux. Jacobus was granted the Patent for the Second flat in Schenectady by Gov. Andros on 29th of October 1677, described as being "32 morgens and 230 rods of land." This property was located on the south side of the Mohawk River, about five miles above the young town of Schenectady. The original parcel was approximately 412 Acres. Jacobus and Elizabeth were sponsors at the baptism of Jacobus Mabie in 1731, the son of Pieter Mabie and his wife, Dorthea Pikket Mebie. Jacobus was listed as "Sen."
meaning Senior to differentiate him form his son Jacobus then age 31 and several nephews of the same name. Elizabeth was designated in this record as "E.L" which stood for Elderly Lady. Based on this Jacobus lived to at least 75 and Elisabeth to at least 71. At his death, which date is not recorded, his farm and lands were split between his sons Jacobus and Johannes which may indicate that his oldest son Lewis had predeceased him.
