Jakob Hermansson Hoyer

Het is mogelijk dat de Nederlandse Hoijers verwant zijn met de lijn Hoyer uit Hoyerswerth en Busum in Holstein en Noordfriesland, aangezien deze Hoijers ook betrokken bij de Hanze-handel waren. Dit geslacht gaat terug tot de 12e eeuw en heeft mogelijk in de vroege middeleeuwen een verbinding met de latere graven von Hoya. Op basis van het voorkomen van voornamen in deze tak (Jacob, Herman, Arent) in het hele gebied tussen het Westelijke Friesland en het Oostelijke Finland lijkt het iets plausibeler te zijn dat er een verwantschap met deze tak zou kunnen aangetoond worden.
