Biography ==When James Barker was born on January 11, 1709, in Branford, Connecticut, his father, Jonathan, was 34 and his mother, Mary, was 31. He married Abigail Russell in October 1737 in his hometown. They had seven children in 19 years. He died on January 6, 1788, in Branford, Connecticut, having lived a long life of 78 years, and was buried there.
