William's birthdate is generally considered to have been 1686, and for James to have been the 2nd eldest child and an adult in 1708, he would have had to be born in 1687. [NOTE: If age 21 in 1708, birth date would be 1687.]

James Bland,born 1687 in Stafford, Prince William Co., Virginia and Died March 22, 1756 in Stafford, Prince William Co., Dittingen Parish. He married Mary Gawtkine. He was the son of James (the Immigrant) Bland and Margaret Lou Harrison. He held Land patents: 8/29/1711 for 354 ac., 1/30/1727-28 165 ac., on the north neck near Grigsby, and 9/16/1730 for 570 ac.
