1696: Unexecuted charter by Alexander, Lord Montgomery in favour of James Cunninghame, eldest son of Robert Cunninghame of Auchinharvie his heirs and assignees whomsoever of that part or portion of land within the ebb of the sea from that limit where his salt pan stands in the west end of the town of Saltcoats to the march between the two parishes of Ardrossan and Stevenston with a little part or portion of land lying before the house possessed by Alexander Ritchie shoemaker etc lying within the parish of Ardrossan and barony thereof, bailliary of Cunningham and sheriffdom of Ayr; to hold of him, his heirs and successors in feu farm for payment yearly of £40 Scots National Records of Scotland, Lands Purchased by Alexander 10th, Archibald 11th, Earls of Eglinton, reference GD3/1/4/22

20 August 1708: Copy registered disposition by Magdalen Campbell, eldest lawful daughter and one of the heirs portioners served and retoured to deceased Mr Adam Campbell of Gargunnock with consent of William Blair of that ilk, her husband and said William Blair for himself and as having right from Anna, Margaret and Euphan Campbell, other three daughters and heirs portioners of said Mr Adam Campbell and from Robert Elphingstoun of Quarrel, husband to said Anna Campbell, and James Campbell of Ardkinglass, husband to Margaret Campbell for their interests; whereby on the narrative that Robert Cunninghame of Auchinharvie by disposition dated 26th July 1688 sold and disponed in favour of deceased Mr Adam Campbell, the lands therein mentioned and thereinafter disponed and that the said Anna, Margaret and Euphan Campbell, three of the four heirs portioners of deceased Mr Adam Campbell with consent of Robert Elphingston, husband to said Anna and of said James Campbell as husband of said Margaret and they for themselves and also with consent of said James Campbell as taking burden on him for Euphan Campbell in respect of her minority and they all with one consent by disposition dated 23 May and 15th June 1705 sold and disponed their three fourth parts and interests in the said lands to William Blair and that by decree arbitral dated 23rd and 28th January 1708 pronounced by Mr William Cochran of Kilmarunnock proceeding on a submission between William Blair for himself and as taking burden on him for the said Magdalen Campbell, his spouse on the one part and Robert Cunninghame and James Cunninghame, his eldest son on the other part, whereby on Robert and James paying and carrying out certain conditions stipulated in the decree arbitral Magdalen Campbell and William Blair as taking burden on him for her were decerned to grant that disposition either in favour of Robert and James or any other person, they should appoint; and on the subsumption that Mr Patrick Warner formerly minister of the gospel at Irvine for himself and in name of Mr William Warner, his son, had in terms of the said decree arbitral paid to William Blair the sum of £38277 Scots and that the said Robert and James Cunninghame had implemented the other conditions of the said decree therefore the said Magdalen Campbell and William Blair with consent of Robert and James Cunninghame sold and disponed in favour of Mr Patrick Warner in liferent and Mr William Warner, his son, his heirs, successors and assignees in fee inter alia , the lands and barony of Saltcoats and assigned to them the sum of £40000 Scots of principal and annualrents and penalty offering thereto contained in an heritable bond granted by Robert Cunninghame to deceased Mr Adam Campbell dated 17th February 1683 in so far as affecting the lands thereby disponed but under burden of the heritable debts therein specified dated and judicially ratified 20th August 1708 and Recorded in the Books of Council and Session, 6th September 1710.
