About Captain James Hervey Giles

Note: Married Susanna in 1772. He served in Col. William Hill's 5th.Regiment of the State Troops of S.C.He was wounded and in March of 1782 he was awarded 2 slaves for his service. He was killed in an Indian Raid near Abbeville, S.C. possibly in Georgia during th Oconee Indian Wars.His grave has not been found.Susanna is buried in Abbeville at Rockt River Church Cem.The old Giles plantation was 400 acres on the Savannah River deeded to John Giles September 1772.
