<p>Registered for the draft in Portland, Oregon in 1918.</p><p><p>residence Lewis County, Washington.</p></p><p><p>Occupation Mill Sawyer, but unemployed at the time..</p></p><p><p>On his draft card he lists himself as being born 5 August 1877.</p></p><p><p>According to the 1910 & 1920 US Fed Census. James was employed as a Sawyer in a saw mill.</p></p><p><p>In1920 he states he is a widow, but wonder if perhaps he may have been divorced or separated, since</p></p><p><p>his wife died in 1946.</p></p><p>His sons are all with him in 1920, and all going to school.</p>
