Born about 1603 (deposed 1 February 1659[/60] "aged fifty & six or thereabouts;" died 14 March 1669/70 aged 67 years), son of Richard and Jane (_____) Hawkins.

Bricklayer who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 & settled in Boston. Died 14 March 1669/70 ("James Hawkins aged 67 years died March the 14th 1670;" inventory dated 1 April 1670).

Married by about 1636 Mary Mills, daughter of JOHN MILLS {1630, Boston}. "Mary Hawkins aged 75 years died the 12 of March 1692."

He may have been born several years earlier, as he deposed on 1 February 1659[/60] that he was "aged fifty & six or thereabouts", and he died on 14 March 1669/70 "aged 67 years". Son of Richard Hawkins and Jane (Angell) Hawkins.
