Beheaded
Notes
"I have an ancestor whom I am interested in who we believe was born at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire whose name was Anthony Haden (b.c. 1694) and according to family tradition was an officer under the Great Marlborough, immigrated to the colony of North Carolina ca. 1720. He also, married a Lady Margaret Douglas, who is said to be of the Drumlanrig - Black Douglas's. I have names of possible ancestors of Anthony Haden/Hayden/Haydon. These include a John Haydon (b.c.1600) who fought as a RoundHead under Cromwell and was executed (beheaded) ca.1657. His son James Haydon (b. 1626;d. 1685) and Samuel Haydon (b. 1649) who is the son of James and possibly the father or grandfather of Anthony. I am trying to connect this family to the Haddon Hall in Derbyshire and was wondering if you know of a source to research the family who held this place in Derbyshire in the 17th century?"
